Summer is here…or it was if you live in the UK.
Still, there’s time to think about summer styles. Even if it’s not beaming sunshine, it’s still milder temperatures and (sometimes) blue skies.
Whether going to the beach (maybe not), festivals, or just having a picnic in the park, these are some of the essential styling tips for you this summer.
Light and Bright
Light and bright is the theme of the summer. Blues and whites are a big trend. The coolness of these colours is perfect for the summer, and they’re easy to style. Light blues and pure whites are the biggest trends, and we think floaty styles are the best. Nobody wants a tight crop top sticking to them in summer.
Think of floaty white dresses or skirts, icy blue blouses for the evening, and cute white sandals. All you need to do is walk into a clothing store, and you’ll see the light blue and white collections on every wall – it won’t be tricky to find a style that suits you.
Finding Your Style
Your style is an expression of yourself and how you choose to dress.
This summer trend, custom printed t shirts are the perfect way for individuals to express their style. Websites like you completely customise a t-shirt, even if the only customisation is the colour.
And even if it’s not personalised t-shirts, you should find your style that makes you feel comfortable. If everyones in floaty summer dresses and you don’t like them, go for floaty trousers and a nice top.
The best thing about summer is anything goes – people are more bold and colourful, and playful with fashion.
Business Casual
The business casual trend is coming back.
This summer, concentrate on lightweight fabrics and easygoing silhouettes, helping you stay cool and smart. Linen blazers, cotton trousers, and breathable blouses are essential pieces that can be mixed and matched. The best looks, in our opinion, are the co-ord sets. They’re minimal effort, put together for you, and most common with business casual looks. Just be careful you don’t go too far to the side of business – you don’t want to look like you’re heading into the office for a 9-5 day of meetings.
Business casual will always help you look like you’ve got somewhere important to be, even if you’re only going to Tesco to do your shopping.
Elevated Sportswear
Elevated sportswear is definitely in – look around you, and everyone is wearing gym wear as casual wear. And who can blame them? These brands are purposely making gym clothes more for fashion rather than the gym. And even if they say they aren’t, they definitely are. Those days when sportswear was exclusively for sports were no more.
And the worst of it is; brands are picking influencers who aren’t even sporty to become brand ambassadors – that shows you how much sportswear has become a fashion icon rather than a gym one. Daily loungewear is our favourite! Informal wear? We’re all about it. Merge stylish sportswear items into your daily wardrobe and be part of this trend. But don’t forget the price tag. The race to make sportswear an everyday item has caused the prices to skyrocket, especially the big brands.
What trend will you be most excited to follow? Whichever trend it is, we have one final tip for you. Pick a summer style that’ll make you feel comfortable. Summer can sometimes feel like a competition or an out-of-comfort-zone experience for others. Some people prefer the hibernation styles of winter, but boldness, comfort, and individuality are what summer 2024 is all about.
