The world of video games is heating up this summer, and we’re not just talking about the temperature outside! With E3 gone, many exciting events have taken their place, showcasing the latest and greatest in the world of gaming.
From action-packed adventures to strategic puzzles, Summer Game Fest 2024 on June 7, making it one of the biggest events of the season. Fest features more than 55 gaming partners including Xbox, PlayStation, Devoler Digital, Bandai Namco, Sega, Ubisoft and indie developers.
Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the main showcase will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube at 5 pm. ET.
Access-Ability Summer Showcase 2024
As the name suggests the Access-Ability with highlight various accessibility options to update disabled gamers about the upcoming games designed with multiple accessibility features. Curating the entire Summer Game Fest around games with robust accessibility features, this event will ensure that all the players can enjoy the excitement without worrying about compatibility issues.
The event will highlight release dates, exclusive trailers, and more new details on new gameplay upgrades including Fiction Factory Games, PlayTonic, and Whitethorn Games.
The Access-Ability Summer event is taking place on June 7th at 11 a.m. ET, live on Twitch and YouTube.
Day of the Devs 2024
Immediately following Summer GameFest, developers iam8bit and Double Fine Productions will host the SGF edition of their Day of the Devs showcase, featuring indie games and hidden gems. The official Day of the Divas website has listed all the games they are going to showcase at various events such as GDC. This time the GDC includes Hyper Light Breaker, Simpler Times, and Castaclismo among others.
The showcase will be livestreamed on Twitch and YouTube on June 7th at 7 p.m. ET.
Xbox Games Showcase 2024
Xbox will host its event that will bring up more exciting updates than the last Summer Game Fest. The first half of the event will feature the games from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Xbox Games Studios and third-party partners, including an expected look at the next instalment in the Gears of War series featuring a mix of AAA and indie titles and games from recently acquired Activision.
The games that are confirmed to be showcased during the events are Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the Shattered Space expansion for Starfield and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 will be starting on June 9th at 1 p.m. ET,
Wholesome Direct 2024
If you’re looking for something laid-back, the Wholesome Direct will showcase gameplay that is “incredibly hopeful, artistic, and creative.” According to the official Wholesome Games X account, a total of 800 games have been submitted for this year’s showcase.
The Wholesome Direct Event 2024 will be live-streamed on Twitch and YouTube on Saturday, June 8th, at 12 p.m. ET.
PC Gaming Show 2024
Hosted by PC Gamer, the PC Gaming Show event will be featuring over 50 games during this year’s Summer Game Fest. This will include a mixture of exclusive announcements, developer interviews and world premiers into forthcoming games. The showcase will focus on PC gaming and addressing the lack of representation during E3.
The event will go live on June 9th at 4 p.m. ET, Steam Next Fest 2024.
Ubisoft Forward 2024
Although the details of the Ubisoft Forward show are still unannounced it is expected that we might see the official gameplay reveal of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. Rumours suggest that the media outlets and content creators will get some hands-on time with the game during the week of Summer Game Fest.
This Summer Game Fest 2024, the Ubisoft Forward will go live on June 10th at 3 p.m. ET.
Nintendo Direct 2024
Although no specific date is set, it is expected that Nintendo might reveal its Switch software line-up for the latter half of 2024 in June, so it is expected that we might have a final look at the console before its launch.
Gamescom 2024
Rounding out the Summer Game Fest, Gamescom 2024 is very similar to the European version of E3 and will likely feature its showcase event similar to the keynote address of E3s past with the Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley.
